Next step, add drivers for few nice USB-connectable devices (something like this for example). I know there's MetaROUTER, but that's too heavy. That would be perfect for various servers (simple web or DNS server, full-featured OpenVPN server. As a limited user, in isolated environment, to not influence the base system too much. What could work, would be a new RouterOS feature that would allow user to run custom binaries. But I don't think there's a market for any special RB device connectable to RPi. Make it a member of both vlans and plug the Pi into itĪgain not really clear one what this means.People are asking MikroTik for Oh yeah, me, here. I'm not clear on why you do this or exactly what it means. I was trying to think of a way that the Pi could enforce the seperation and even think about the switch being what is involved in doing so :P.ĭo you mind if I ask for a bit more detail on how this would work? I was thinking about this as well and two things came to mind:ġ) I'm uncertain how fast the Pi will be as is anyway and this isn't a great topology for making the most of available bandwidth.Ģ) I don't know enough about VLANs and a wasn't how it was possible ensure traffic flowed properly, and securely with regard to privacy since the uplink goes off to the net. The best thing? The base model is only $20 $5!.ĭo you know a related subreddit? We'd love to know.
